Decided to sign up .. have been reading along for some time now. I have been trough the assesment, and today it has been confirmed i am on the spectrum. Level 1, that would be something like Aspergers?
Feel like reaching out and maybe learn a thing or two here.

Me in short, 30 years old. Recently moved back in with parents after a breakup. (and breaking down myself.) Diagnosed with bipolar II years ago, but i feel this 'new' diagnosis covers most of my issues. I hope atleast.
Did not actually think i had autism, only in recent months it became more and more obvious to myself and it sort of all fit together.

Feels like quite a relief. A lot of work to be done still, but atleast the help will be coming from the right direction.

Level 1 just means that the amount of support that you need is minimal (i.e. only at certain times or in certain circumstances); but, yes, if you have no significant problems with every-day language or learning disabilities, it's essentially the same as Asperger's Syndrome.

Same here, and for many others of us who were diagnosed later in life, especially when, like you, we've had other diagnoses before autism that the experts said were supposed to explain everything.

This is a great place to talk to people in the same position so that you can understand what it all means. I've found it incredibly helpful, and often a lot of laughs, too! I hope you find the same.

Hi everyone,

I'm new too. Relieved that I got an official diagnosis four years ago, although it was no surprise to those that really knew me. Finding and listening to other autistic people has been very insightful.

Top of the spectrum gets minimal support. If people can’t see a physical disability, they don’t care.

It is as if they expect you to be able to turn it on and off at will. Just because you might have a way with words or almost seem normal. So why not act like it? :roll:
