New Aspie here :)
Hello everyone. I'd rather not say my name but you can call me any variation of my username, tranz, tekk, etc. Or you can call me Rori, which is what others call me anyway. Anyway! I'm new here, so let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I've been diagnosed with Asperger's when I was 5. I also have sensory disorders. I hate tags on my shirts and I cannot stand getting my hands wet. Everytime I wash my hands it feels so weird and it makes me want to scratch paper so I feel better.. kinda makes hand washing sort of tough. I don't function well with Asperger's though and the syndrome itself has really damaged me in a social and relationship type of way.
I am currently on SSI. I am an isolationist and also have severe social anxiety and other social phobias and lack of trust for others. I don't know if many people with Asperger's go through this as well.. but it has ultimately put a halt in my life and it makes me very sad. If it weren't for my obsessive interests, I would be so lost and depressed. Even before the social anxiety got worse, I hated being around people because I always felt so outcasted and embarassed from lack of understanding what others were saying or having myself say something that came across as weird or stupid to others.
My interests and favorite things are electronic music and collecting it (not the commercial stuff that people listen to these days at festivals), collecting and playing video games, technology and computers, astronomy and scifi. I also have a large interest in the letters 'Z' and 'K' if you haven't noticed as well as a passion and obsession for learning languages. It has something to do with the grammar.. I just love learning it.
I hope to meet people, share experiences, learn from others, and everything else this forum can offer. I'll see you all around the site!

Do you actually see "Z" and "K" in a special way--like in synesthesia?
Welcome to the Forums.
You'll make lots of friends/acquaintances here based upon your interest in electronic music and linguistics.
Many people also have sensory issues, which will lead to identification and commiseration.
Thank you for the welcome.
I don't see the letters "Z" and "K" in a synesthesia type of way, no, but the letters induce certain thoughts into my head that make me feel comfortable and relaxed.
Is electronic music a form of music that is popular among those with Asperger's? Why do you think that is? I have an interesting theory on why I am so drawn to it, but I'm not sure if it's the right reason.
