My name is Jan. 23 years old. Really from Hong Kong, though most of my memories are from the UK. Only learnt about Aspergers about 4 years ago, was only described as "weird" as a kid. You know, obsessions with technology when everyone is into cartoons, bullied, that standard stuff. It was my sister who suggested that I may be an Aspie when she was studying some early childhood education thing. Diagnosis for autism in Hong Kong is a very lagging compared with the UK, so probably missed it back then.
Find it hard to communicate with NTs. They weird me out (and vice versa). Heck, still wondering if I have Aspergers in the first place (couldn't get a diagnosis as not in the same place for long enough), though counsellor (not properly trained, but seen some people) and recommended on-line "tests" suggests so.
Joined up as now studying in university in NZ. So many friendly people actually coming up and talking to me. Have to work closely with them as well. Scary and... enjoyable at the same time. Wanted to learn how other peers came to cope with this problem.
So... yeah.
