Not new, but newly diagnosed

29 year old female. I have posted here before. After long suspecting myself of having AS, I finally have seen a shrink a couple of times about it now, and she confirmed tonight that she believes I'm Aspie.

Besides my self-reported tendencies, she also noticed I have a monotone voice and odd posture. I did not self-report these; they were her own observations.

I took the WAIS IQ test tonight; my results will be analyzed and shared Sept. 30. She did say for sure that she noticed my processing speed was a little faster than most Aspies, but she still says I qualify.

So, I'm finally, officially an Aspie! The countless hours of frustration are finally put into a systematic explanation.

Feeling some relief for sure.

must be really nice having things sorted out and knowing that there are others that share your experiences. i mean i was diagnosed when i was 4, so i've been living my entire life with the autism label.
