My name is Shiloh aaaand I am new to this site. It seems like a great place to meet greet and remind yourself that no one is ever alone in this. I have a son with ASD and he is a smart and awesome person. His dad didn't accept his diagnosis until he was 12 years old (divorced by the way) and he still acts like he doesn't understand it. I think his dad is aspergers/high functioning as there are a lot of similar traits. However, I am not entirely confident that I don't have some form of high-functioning ASD. I just wanted to say hi and hope all is well

Hi RoadRatt. KraftieKortie, I definitely will accept that as a compliment as I love reading up on the Civil War. cathylynn, nice to meet you too. My interest include reading, "techie gadgetry", helping people, and advocating for people with ASD with a special interest in finding resources for adults on the spectrum. I love spending time with my son and having great discussions about his perception of the world in general. I work in the medical profession and I'm privileged to work with some ASD folks who are great at their jobs.

Thanks everyone! It's nice to "meet" you all. I hope I can do my part to contribute any helpful insight or just be a support or different point of view for those confusing and overwhelming situations that I am sure we have all had at one time or another.
