I just realised that I never made an introduction post, so thought I'd better do something about that now.. so yeah... this is me! I'm a 22 year old female with aspergers (nevermind what it says in my profile I can't get the damn age to show up right), and this seemed like a good place to be. There's a few other comorbid issues which interfere with my life further, but seeing as those are still kinda in the process of being diagnosed it's probably best not to mention them.

I love star trek, particularly TNG, and particular the characters of Data, Lore and B-4, as you may have guessed from my username. My main hobby throughout life has been horse riding/training, which I'm very good at but I've been having a few anxiety problems lately about actually getting over to the yard unfortunately. As well as this I occasionally enjoy paragliding, motorcross, target shooting and playing the piano (badly). ^^'

As well as this I'm a huge fan of literature, all types, but especially fantasy. Just finished the dream of perpetual motion, which was a trip, and now I'm onto one flew over the cuckoos nest.. which is ironic heh.

Anyway I think that's it.. I don't really know how to introduce myself either in the 'real' world or on the internet, so hopefully it's adequate.

Hey DataLore welcome. :sunny:

The first thing that came to mind when I saw your username was Star Trek: TNG. I love Star Trek. I've been watching it since I was a kid watching the original. :)

UHASDHIUASD! Sorry I just got really excited to know there's a fellow trekkie around heh. I used to watch the original series once a week with my dad, and all the little bleeps and bloops were so soothing, but it was only a couple of years ago that I became a real fan. Trek actually helps me so much with understanding some social norms, especially TNG, because human nature tends to be the theme of most episodes. Data's quest to find his humanity feels an awful lot like an autistic person trying to live in a world where they're the outcast too, so through watching how he deals with things it can be so bloody helpful heh. ^^'

Sorry for rambling a bit there but like I say I just got really excited. XD

Thank you for the welcome! :3

Hello DataLore!
Another new Trekkie here, though I'm much older to the point that what was on when I was young were the original series reruns. I grew up on those, and when TNG happened, that was my absolute favorite. Data is also one of my favorite characters, though Wesley Crusher is a very close second. My favorite ST movie is Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
Some years ago, I had a boss that looked like Commander Riker. Keeping in mind the already challenging social issues, with him looking like that I could hardly talk to him at all. I am surprised I ever got that job as he was on the interview team, but I'm glad I did. That was one of my favorite first jobs, working in electronics assembly on a complex line with multiple boards. Every time I had to talk to that boss, I'd have to think it through for quite awhile before I was able to go talk to him, though.

Oh gawd I can see how having a boss that looked like Riker would have made things awkward.. but at the same time it's pretty cool! Did he have any of the same mannerisms? Oh god he didn't lean over your desk all the time did he? XD Or do that thing where he smiles really wide and one eye goes bigger than the other? What about the shirt tug, like Picards but infinitely more uncomfortable looking? Sorry I'm getting carried away with this but it would be such a novel experience to have someone around who looked like any character from TNG hahahaha!

And Wesley.. I love that little nerd so much, even though I do love the shut up wesley line heh. Actually never watched the voyage home if I'm honest, but it's on the to-do list! :D

Just thank you everyone so much for the welcome it makes me feel.. well.. welcome! XD
