I'm new here

My parents tell me that I was no different from a normal kid until I was four, when I stopped talking and was later diagnosed with AS.

Is anyone else here like this?

It is fairly common, development seems to stop, parents notice, get medical opinion. Doctors say you will never speak again, or learn to write. A few years later you are running a computer, digging up information on the Internet.

Children stop speaking for several reasons. Some were told to and took it wrong, literal aspies, others just had too much going on inside. They restart later, and often surpass what is expected.

It seems you are speaking again, being all AS, that stuff is boring, do you have any video games? Hobbies?

Yeah that's pretty common among people on the autistic spectrum.

Hi!

Welcome to Wrongplanet!

I don't think that's too common in people with AS.

I hope you enjoy posting here!

Welcome to WP!

I'm SamuraiSaxen, and I'm self diagnosed.

My mom says I seemed as a normal kid until I was 4 and went to kindergarten, because I never talked with my teacher or kids, I was a loner. But I continued talking at home.

I play a lot of video games. My hobbies are writing, music in general, and designing video games(although I can't actually make them). I used to read for most of the day, but I haven't read on my own for a while.

Also, I think I'd like to edit my profile. How can I do this?

Welcome to WP!

On the left, there is a menu bar. Click on My Account. From there, yo will get profile options.

I think you sound somewhat typical.

I did not notice anything really unusual with my son until he was 3 or 4. I am always being asked, "didn't he develop slower as a young child?" and I am like uh, no, it was more like there was a regression at age 3.
