Hello again. I was a semi-regular visitor to WP, back in '08 (if I recall correctly), and I really got a lot out of this community.

I have been very narrowly focused on recovery from a concussion I received, and my attention has been trained on sorting out that particular mess. Don't recommend it.

Anyway, mission accomplished, sort of. The PCS mess has been mostly sorted, with some outstanding issues that require regular management. Fortunately, the same things that I've read typify aspies also appear to help with post-concussion symptoms -- routine, list-making, for example.

And now I really need to get back to understanding how aspie-ness fits in my life.

I was absolutely immersed in it, back in '08, and my studies and research gave a name and context to what I had been experiencing all my life -- and that includes my family members, as well. My mom really wishes her sister had been diagnosed when she was younger - she believes it would have made all their lives more straightforward.

Thing is, the rehab counselor I've been working with on the PCS flatly denies that I'm anywhere on the spectrum. I suspect he's both referencing info gleaned from original understandings of it, based on the study of only male subjects (I'm female), as well as the fact that I do a danged good impression of an NT.

He just doesn't believe it, so I haven't mustered the energy to explore. Been too busy rewiring all those neural connections that got frayed in my accident.

I'm hoping to get back to my past line of inquiry here. Because a lot is still unanswered with me, and somehow PCS doesn't quite explain it all. Much, but not all.

So, that's it. It's good to be back.

Cheers
K
