Hi there!,

I've been lurking the forums for a while and decided I would finally join. There are quite a lot of informative and great posts here that have helped me understand my diagnosis.

I've read that using my real name etc. is frowned upon, why is this? I'm very open with others about my diagnosis and find no reasons that Google shouldn't index my contributions here. Is it just a general privacy concern?

I think it's because many people have previously come to change their mind about contributions they have made. They either didn't realise the possible consequences or had a change of heart. Why not go for discretion and reevaluate your stance in a few months. If I were you I'd go with discretion. Whilst I couldn't really care who knows what about me, I'm glad things I was happy for the world to know about me years ago isn't traceable - for me it's in the past and no-one else has the power to change that.
