Greetings Humans,

My name is marcb0t, a rob0t from a dystopian future.

I finally decided to say hi and become an active part of teh Wrong Planet community.

I am undiagnosed, but suspect I have Aspergers or some High Functioning Autism spectrum disorder. Other people have suspected long before me, but they are generally very loving and supportive, so I count myself blessed.

I work at a warehouse and in fast food. Also, my narrow interest are music, and even more so, chiptunes! I make chiptunes, but also other kinds of music as well which can sound like old school jazz or more normally, 80's pop and dance styles.

My goal for music is to make melodies and soundscapes that will engage the mind and nourish the heart... and occasionally some fun dancy tunes :D

Also, I am a Christian, and take my faith very seriously. But my goal is to love, serve, and encourage people as the Lord would lead.

1 Thess. 5:11 - Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Much Love,
marcb0t

Hi Cathlynn,

Thanks, and nice to meet you. Yeah, 70s and 80's sounding music is my favorite styles these days. I could send you a sample of something still in the works if you like.

Oh my, not a Christian anymore? What happened?

I know there are many so called churches out there that do not reflect the love or cross of Christ. :(

Welcome to Wrong Planet!

I am Catholic, so if you want to talk faith, feel free to PM me. I too like listening to 1980s music, primarily because listening to music I grew up listening to in the 1990s and 2000s makes me feel nostalgic.

Hi marcb0t! Welcome to Wrong Planet :)

I'm glad to hear that you're surrounded by such loving and supportive people.

I'm into 80's music and some forms of dance music too. I'd love to hear the end products of some of your music making; it definitely sounds like something I'd enjoy listening to!

I'm also spiritual, though I'm not sure how I define myself at the moment. Nevertheless, you're very much welcome to PM me if you'd like to talk about such matters (or anything else!). :)

Enjoy your time here!

Hiya!

Thanks for the welcome and invite. I'm open to discussing all kinds of things, also I generally shy away from heated debates. But yeah, you may be seeing a PM from me in a few days.

I got a few things to tend to in life, first. Trying to look for aviation repair jobs locally. 8)

You are always welcome to PM me in the meantime.

Hi Myriad,

Thank you. When I have more time I can PM you one of my tunes. Dance music for me can be fun, but only the upbeat kind with out lyrics, and in moderation.

It's really heartbreaking to read how negative other people's experience in life has been. I guess I'm just really fortunate, but I can always pray for and hope the best for other Aspies and people with ASD.

Maybe I'll PM you some time. :)
See ya around!

No worries marcb0t.

That'd be great, but no pressure of course! I too am very partial to instrumental dance music (that way the tracks can mean absolutely anything you want them to. Not that lyrics can't be interpreted but, you know :D).

Indeed, it is unfortunate but we can certainly hope, pray and help as best we can.

All the best for your job hunting too (in response to your above reply). :)

Why thank ya kindly.

I've never really been able to relate to lyrics much (with a few exceptions).

I used to listen to "I Beg Your Pardon" when I was 5 years old back in 1990. I never understood the lyrics until listened to it again a few months ago! :P No joke.

It's just not important to me, and sometimes a distraction. The singer may as well be singing bla diddy dah.

Music does a good enough job of painting sceneries, moods, and stories in my mind.

Also, I got my Aviation Mechanic's license back in 2005, but only have 3 months of actual work experience. So I want to pursue a career in that, and there are opportunities everywhere here in Washington.

Getting that license was probably the most difficult thing I've ever done in my life given my learning disabilities and having to work so hard to overcome those limitations.

Alright, Take care!

Yeah, lyrics can certainly be distracting. I guess for me though it depends on the genre I'm listening to, e.g. with rock music I welcome lyrics and can easily learn a song off by heart. But I'd estimate that 95% of my EDM is instrumental.

Well done on getting that license too. I can imagine how hard it must have been given the learning disabilities and I'm sure the hard work will pay off! Sounds like a cool career. :)
