Hi Wrong Planet,
I am a 32yr old recently diagnosed with ASD. I live in Cincinnati with an NT wife, an autistic daughter, and an NT son. (off topic does anyone know the rules for "a" and "an" with abbreviations?)
Growing up without a diagnosis, or parents and teachers that were interested in helping a struggling kid, I bounced from school to school eventually went into the Marines then college and marriage after that. I like sports, philosophy, and Batman.

Thanks for reading!

Hi and welcome to Wrong Planet!

From my understanding, it depends on how you pronounce the abbreviation. For example, with the initialism 'NT', it begins with a vowel sound (as if the word is 'en-tee'), so 'an' would precede it. With an acronym like NASA though, it would be preceded by 'a' because you're pronouncing it as a whole word (beginning with the 'n' sound). I hope that makes sense (I'm not the best at explaining things like that :) )!
