My name is Adam and I'm from Miami, Florida. I'm currently attending Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida and I'm majoring in criminal justice.

I have a mild form of autism (PDD-NOS/HFA). My speech was delayed and I've come a long way to overcome my problems, though I know I still and will always have some mild processing problems. Do I want to be cured? No, because I do have a unique mind and special interests. Besides, my weaknesses improve gradually as I get older.

I've been interested in autism for a long time since my parents first told me I had it. I'm here to meet more people on the spectrum. :)

Thank you, Everyone.

This actually is a great place. I wish there were message boards like these long ago.

Since my adolescent years, I've found sites of those who share personal experiences with autism or AS, message boards for parents of children, teens, and adults with autism (which I'm not a big fan of but don't mind attempting to help the parents out if they have any questions or concerns- I'm just a distinct individual compared to others on the spectrum) and a couple support group boards. I used to have AOL but now I use the browser and AIM. Things have changed a lot within the autism community over the years. I'm basically in the process of overcoming anxiety issues I've had for a long time and working on being myself.

This board is an excellent place to actually meet others and chat about autism, share interests and get the opportunity to make friends with those on the spectrum. Everyone is welcoming, friendly, intelligent and share the same goals.
