Hello,
I'm a 49 year old guy who has been lurking here for a few weeks. Over the past 2 months I've been coming to terms with my family history of autism and the likelyhood that my weird life so far can be explained by my own possible Asperger's. Its been both a shock and a relief, and just being able to read these forums has helped me a great deal. So thank you all for the help you didn't know you were providing.
CG.

Hi Cathylynn, nice to meet you.
My interests are mostly in science and math. I am fascinated by patterns in nature and I was lucky to be able to turn that into a career as a biologist. I also like classical music as long as its from a composer I know something about. Its a bit odd, but until I understand a bit of the history the music seems cold to me. I'm not much of a fan of modern music or TV, so I don't seem to have alot in common with many people these days.
I've been married for 17 years with lots of ups and downs that I think might be explained by my view of the world being "different." My wife has always stuck by me though. I have not confided in her yet and I worry alot about her reaction when I get the nerve to to do so.
So that's a bit more about me. I'm still a bit shy about all of this, so thank you for asking.

i majored in biology in college, but went the medical route. i like classical and sing in a chorale, but i also like soft rock. i've been married for six years. it's going well. he took my info about being an aspie with no qualms. best of luck to you as you try to integrate your new info about yourself. (edited for a typo.)
