Hi Everyone,

I'm excited to have found this forum. I am hoping to learn a lot, as well as get some help with difficult decisions that I have to make. I look forward to getting to know this group!

I have an 8 yr old son with Aspergers (plus additional challenges), who I adore, work hard to support, but seems to be unhappy much of the time. I feel I have made mistake after mistake with school placement, and I just want to find a place that feels good to my son, where he can learn and make friends (something he wants). Anyway, I'll post about that in a different thread. I just wanted to say hello :D

if you want advice, as a person with asperger's, home school is the best option. if your child happens to do something "wrong" to get expelled, like i did (for using self injurious stims at home) then he will be placed in an alternative school. i'm not going to trigger myself or anybody else by talking about my experiences there (if you want to know, private message me) but let's just say they aren't equipped for ASDs
