Hi there, I am late 40s, single living in london and recently diaganosed with aspergers. I discussed my journey with aspergers on the thread below on another ASD site. After diganosis, the consultant gave me details of this site.

Well Diagnosis has been a relief knowing that i have a problem/issue and not down to me being 'weird', silly/immature etc. I always had problems getting into relationships, usually at least 5 years between dates, with not many long term ones. I have since learned this is also a trait of some with Aspergers

However on the consultant's diagnosis report, it stated that my condition is a recognised disabilty under the Disability Discrimination Act. Well reading that made me feel a little stigmatisted. I should not be too hard on myself because it is not a 'mental illness' but a condition. I hope to learn more and get some advice with coping with the condition. Are there any self help groups in the london area, where aspies can meet? or is it done primarily on forums like this?
