Hi everyone!
My son just turned 6 and was just diagnosed with HFA this week. I always knew he was different from my other kids but I did not really suspect HFA. I feel kind of stupid because many of the signs were glaring me right in the face and I didn't even know it. I'm not sure where we go from here. He has major anxiety and panic for seemingly no reason (I don't understand it) and randomly melts down, except in public when he completely shuts down. He is also a sensory kid, both seeking and avoiding. He will sit as close as possible to the tv with it up as loud as I can stand, but then at the same time he won't wear underwear because it feels weird. (Which is actually pretty reasonable lol.)
He also wears the same clothes for days on end and I have to physically wrestle him into clean clothes, throw his clothes in the wash, and give them back as soon as possible. I've tried buying multiples of the clothes he likes, but he doesn't like them, it has to be the one he happened to put on that week.

He is also the most amazing, funny, kind, intelligent person I've ever met!! He loves to snuggle with me. He's really into Ninja Turtles, and loves to play outside. His says his best friend is Bruno, our doberman, and spends hours teaching Bruno new tricks. He is THE BEST!! !
