Hi, I posted on here last night, but deleted my thread since no one replied because I think I kind of went on a rant.

In any case. I want to get diagnosed somehow, but I can't see a mental health professional because I wouldn't be able to do my job if I were diagnosed.

I find too much in common with ya'll (I have a few aspie friends) and it's killing me that I can never get it right at work when all I'm doing is following their rules. I get very frustrated with my coworkers making exceptions and it makes me look like a jerk when I'm not willing to make the same exceptions to the rules. (this is because I feel clueless to what is ok and what's not, like I need a manual for every situation. And, I don't want to break the wrong rules.)

Anyways, I hope I can make some new friends here who understand what I'm talking about. Any tips regarding a diagnosis would be appreciated. Thanks and well met!

Hi Torstin. I know what you mean about tasks at work. People have called me slow and I feel like it is me who is following the rules, yet people who just "blag it" seem to get the most praise. I don't know which are the important details either, to me they all are. :) I don't know where you are from, but I am in the UK and recently got my diagnosis privately, but he left it up to me whether to send it to my doctor. :)

Totally get what you're talking about with the work thing!

Exactly! What the heck is the point of having rules if they are not meant to be followed? Doesn't make any sense to me. I can understand, in certain situations, where a rule is not justified. But, then maybe the rule shouldn't exist to begin with if that's the case, or perhaps it should be more specific. It's like people are too lazy to do the right thing.

Thank you, I will try that with a diagnosis.

Good to meet you, everyone!
