Also checking how my profile will look thanks to the Preview function, been lurking here off and on for a number of years.

And why isn't my avatar showing? Anyone know? This is all a bit new and unclear to me, the "WARNING! Disclosure Of Personal Information" topic mentions disabling of public email, but I have no idea where to do that.

edit: Seems it's disabled by default, now that's a good start :D

I guess if you have been lurking for a number of years you know how helpful it can be to ask questions here or just give one another support.

Welcome here as an official member.
I dont honestly remember how I got my avatar loaded, I am not very tech savy

Hope you enjoy being a member.

Welcome, Reflectie. I lurked here for years also before joining.

Did you upload your avatar at the correct place? My Account > Edit Avatar > Upload and submit.
If the size of the picture is fine, maybe there's some site bug and someone else will have an answer for you.

Welcome, FWIW I've had avatar images rejected by this site due to the file size being too large. Perhaps you can shrink it in a programme like Paint or search for something similar but smaller if it's not a personal pic.

Cheers!

I was more a visitor with only short stays, I didn't come here all the time and constantly and I have no experience with the user interface here which one can only figure out once one has actually registered (which is what I did only an hour ago or so).

Do you know why I keep having to type in numbers each and every time I try to reply to a thread and each time I try to edit one of my own posts? I tend to edit my own posts for things like spelling errors
When posting this message, I had to enter a number twice, which is just extra annoying.

I couldn't edit my avatar as I didn't have one, so I did upload an image and it mentioned it was done succesfully, but it simply won't show....that or I'm the one who's being buggy instead of the forum software

I think it is because of the amount of time it takes to post. I am wordy sometimes and get that when I take a long time to post.

The CAPTCHAS (or whatever they call them) seem to hit me at random, and not always when I make a lengthy post.

Thanks all! :D

I dunno, I seem to get them each and every time, sometimes even twice, but maybe I just have to get used to it?
But it's still annoying as it has no purpose I think. It distracts from it's purpose.

I'm actually CTRL+A & CTRL+C all my written text every time now for fear of it getting lost in the mists of digitality.
