Well, after knowing about this site for a while I decided to make an account. Long story short after years of consideration I think I might have autism/aspergers. A while ago a teacher said I might have it (also told a bunch of other people...who agreed...even though she never even told ME). I have no official diagnosis and that probably will not change any time in the near or probably even distant future. I hope that won't be an issue.

I dismissed the idea of it because all I knew was the stigmas about it. But then I learned more about it and once I learned what a special interest was soon it started to make sense. Cos over the years people bullied/abused me for having what you'd call a special interest and I legitimately thought I was an awful person since I couldn't really help it, but then I learned about autism.

I have a couple special interests, but I'll leave that for another post/any questions someone might have since otherwise this will turn into an infodump.

Anyway, I'm G and I'm trans/non-binary (again that's a whole nother post) and I'm 19. I'm from the USA.

I came to this site cos I wanted to talk to people who might have something in common with me and understand me. Before this all I had was submitting to semi-active Tumblr blogs, but since they so rarely updated it stopped feeling like a worthwhile outlet so I hope here I can have some conversations and learn some stuff about myself and others like me maybe.

Thanks! Well my primary interest is Muse (the band), but then I also like Star Trek and Star Wars, the latter of which is crawling into special interest territory, particularly lightsabers which I've begun to collect, haha. I like the Wheel of Time books as well and I'm on the third one but I'm awful about reading because I get distracted rather easily...usually by my other interests, lol.

Cool. What are the Wheel of Time books about?

They're this really big fantasy series, there's 14 books total. I hear it's a lot like LOTR in a lot of ways, and I've really enjoyed them so far. They're pretty fun books.
