Hello from the States!

...at the moment I'm living in the Midwest. I don't feel comfortable putting out my first name just yet, so call me Bicarbonate. :wink: I've actually been a member for a while, but only as a "lurker." I'm getting out of my shell.

I suppose I'll begin with occupation/hobbies? My first love is art, and my second love is biology/healthcare. So at the moment I'm trying to do both!

I haven't a clue whether or not I'm on the autistic spectrum, but I joined last year because of a crush I had on a dear friend with AS. I liked reading the forums because it gave me a better idea of differences between NT and AS - I also work in healthcare, so I found the information beneficial for my patients/coworker's.

However. The closer I get to him, the more I realize we have in common. I have never met anybody of the opposite sex that I understand at this level (it still freaks me out), and certain behaviors were pointed out to me as being... Not neurotypical? I'm still not sure. Sometimes I feel as though I'm halfway between NT and AS.

In short: I feel a connection with many thoughts expressed on this site. I am here to learn about myself, and to learn about others!
