Hi! My name is Jenny and I just joined. My son, Brian, will turn 13 next week and was diagnosed with Asperger's about a month ago. We are still trying to figure out how to help him. He also has ADD and anxiety which can make things difficult. I guess I am here just trying to find other parents who are dealing with the same issues.

I work at a university sitting at a computer all day, which I love ... it helps keep me sane. I love knitting/crochet, history, dead languages, and science fiction. And please beware as my humor can be quite dark and sarcastic :)

I am not sure what else to say except ... hello!

Jenny

Hey Jenny,
Welcome to the forum!

While I am not a parent, I'm an adult son that recently began learning about the same things and that's what also led me to seek out this forum.

Welcome Jenny,

Don't forget that WrongPlanet has some younger members, and board sections to cater for them, especially teens. Of course, you will understandably want to check the place out yourself first - but do consider introducing your son to it. Finding other people who have experienced childhood and beyond living with autism is a great help to many of us on the spectrum.

Best wishes.
