I just joined this site. I have been reading it for a while now.... I thought maybe I could find people here like me and maybe even make some new friends. It's hard for me to make friends but who knows. Anyways, I'm Cheryl. I am 37 years old. Single. And i live in Sumter, South Carolina. USA I am not officially diagnosed yet but I have an appointment on April 5th I have taken that test online a few times and It says I'm likely an aspie. I scored like 154 and more out of 200. The one that shows the chart on it when you're done. I've always known I was different and never fit in. I have had a lot of troubles in my life and still do. I don't even want to be normal really. I just want to meet people like me that understand and get it. It just sucks having to deal with not being able to make friends easy and not having anyone special. It gets really lonely. I spend most of my time alone. I have a couple of friends I see once in a while here and there.

Welcome to WP!

Where's Sumter? My parents and I went to Charleston last year on vacation.

Hi, I am a female Aspy, 51, living in North Myrtle Beach. Would be happy to chat with you by phone or a messenger app like WhatsApp, Skype, etc. I think we must learn to be self-confident. Even if we blunder or do something stupid, it is the self -confidence that will make us charming, interesting, or funny in the eyes of the NT. But without the self-confidence, we tend to be avoided like the plague or become the object of ridicule. More so than the NT, it is even more important for us to dress with class, put on makeup correctly, etc. They make us more attractive to others and help us feel more self-confident. When you look great, you feel great, and the confidence and positive vibes radiate everywhere, affecting how NTs see you at the most subconscious, instinctual level. You will find yourself making more friends that way. But the question is: what makes you truly happy? For me, I have to talk to people and act a certain way for my career, but if I could live with no fear of running out of money, I would most likely choose to be alone most of the time, deeply absorbed in interests that make me excited to get up in the morning. Make sure that your loneliness is not simply because you are comparing yourself with NTs, who appear so happy with all their friends. When you stop comparing and instead value your own preferences and unique personality, what does that look like?
