Hello !

Recently diagnosed as being on the Autism Spectrum Disorder by a psy (just verbally because a professional diagnosis might hinder my future life. France, my country, is not really tolerant about autistic and aspies), i came across Wrong Planet and i have decided to subscribe to the forum.

My name is Sophie and i'm 22. I'm obsessed with pop culture, especially tv shows and movies. I could babble hours about my favorite movies, fan theories, tropes and so on.

Autistic activist on Tumblr, i try to offer some stories about autism, theories about meltdown, self-injury behavior and stuff. My purpose is to help autistic folks (self-diagnosed or not) to understand themselves better. Since i learned to study my own behavior quite intensively, i was hoping i could help and so far, it seems to be the case. I'm really happy about that ^^. I'm not widely recognized, but i have some followers and they're very nice.

I've also written an article about being autistic for a french feminist website. So far, it seems to have been well received.

I'm a Librarian. I love my job, but i struggle with communication and it's hard for me to connect with my colleagues or the library's patrons. I can't remember any name, any face, no matter how hard i try. But i still adore my job, and the fact that i'm independant, and i hope that, one day, i'll be able to have a stable job (this one is just a contract to replace someone who's pregnant).

I love creative writing. My executive dysfunction doesn't help, but i hope that, one day, i'll be able to finish a story. Publishing it is another matter, but just finishing it would already be quite an accomplishment ^^.

As you might have noticed, English is my second language, so i apologize in advance if my vocabulary is not perfect. I'm working on it, but i'm still not fluent. I hope you'll be okay with it.

Any questions ? I'll be happy to answer them !

I used to live in the Charente, but my French is terrible.
I now live back in Britain.

thanks :D

It's okay if you're not really good in french. Our language is quite difficult to learn. At least, that's what i've been told ^^.
I never went to Charente, i'm from Savoie myself. Mountains are such a relaxing view, i feel so strange when i have to go to Paris and there aren't mountains at all xD.

Welcome to WP! It's great that you try to help other people with autism. What kinds of things do you write about?
