I am new, in many ways. I have had ASD for 17 days, at least that is when I was diagnosed. But I have spent 56 years undiagnosed, although I have suspected it for a few years.

I am looking forward to reading people's stories and learning about myself at the same time.

I am not really good at the social thing, but you probably knew that out about me already. Don't mind talking about my special interests though.

Hello back. Is your special interest to do with trains or railways? My main one is. I do have a secondary special interest.

Welcome to Wrong Planet. I am also 56 and have only recently learned that I am on the spectrum. What are your special interests?

Hi Jiheisho and welcome to WP.... there are many late diagnosed adults here, I hope you find you have commonalities with other members :D

Greetings,

My "Special Interest" is in flirting.
Err, but with the ladies.
You safe,
Unless I get into the schnapps.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am looking forward to being a member of the community.

My interests are wide and varied, but all special. I can certainly appreciate narrow-gauge tank engines (0-4-0)--there is something nice about saddle tanks. I leave my flirting directed toward my wife. My oldest and longest interest is photography. My latest interest is autism--I read something about an unexamined life...

Thank you.

I'm not big on the "Bucket List" thing, myself.

Cheers,

Welcome to Wrong Planet :D. My present special interest is ASD also. Although I've been at it too long. I am trying to turn my previous interest, electric cars, into a part time vocation, but haven't figured out how to do that yet.

I think Mountain Goat may have a new BFF. Welcome. You may have only been diagnosed 17 days, but you have been autistic for all 56 years. Just a thought

That is a very good thought. I wonder why I waited so long? :) So far, it feels a bit different since the diagnosis, like my load is just a bit lighter. It also explains such a lot about those other 56 years.

Hi, I was diagnosed at 45 and am the same age as you. Not that age matters one bit to me, but it's handy to get diagnosed and see how everything falls into place like a crossword.

Have a happy and productive stay here on our Outer Rim planet!

Well, I can read your post! My Japanese is not a good as I hope--I will not embarrass myself by telling you how long I lived there. But you are right that my name/avatar jiheisho is the Japanese word for autism.

Thank you for your warm welcome.

BTW, technically, a trailer was a short movie spliced at the end of a movie. What we call a trailer was actually a leader. But we lost the accuracy of the term over time. And technically, a movie was a silent film, talkies had soundtracks. And why do we call movies shot digitally a film? The world is really confusing for autists--NT should simply make a word and then stick with it!

:D
