Hey! Pleasure to meet you all. My name is Lu. I'm 25 and have been struggling to figure out what was "wrong" with me my entire life. I discovered I had Synesthesia at 15, but it wasn't until earlier last month when my wife looked at me and asked, "Are you sure you don't have autism?" So I did a little research. (And by a little, I mean a lot.) 99.99% of signs and sources are pointing me toward being on the autistic spectrum, so I figured I'd jump on here and join a forum of hopefully like-minded people, and maybe some who are questioning too. Guess I'm looking for support.
Every resource I find says it's very difficult for a female to be professionally diagnosed, and I'm nervous that my family will simply write off my evaluations as "Oh, you're just really quirky. You've always been that way." I've had ticks and stims my whole life, and have always struggled to comprehend other people on a level that society accepts.

What is your first name? Lu. "Little Lu" is, well, because I'm shorter than all my friends.

Location: Idaho, US
Hobbies and Interests: I'm an occult practitioner. I've been working with Paganism for over 10 years. My life kind of revolves around it all. Aside from that, I'm an artist and do a lot of sketches of fantasy creatures and people. In my free time when I am not drawing commissions or teaching occultism, I write fantasy and sci-fi books.
Why are you here? I kind of answered this earlier, but I've been questioning for a while now whether or not I am on the spectrum. I've been doing a ton of research and self-evaluation. I'm here because I want to meet other like-minded people.
When were you diagnosed?(skip if you don't have a disorder): I haven't been diagnosed yet, but I'm hoping that'll happen sometime in the future.
Favorite subjects: Occult practices (clearly, I'm a bit of a witch), Synesthesia, Sci-fi, Horror, Cyberpunk, Writing, Art, EDM.
Year/Grade: Graduated High school in '09. Went to college for a couple years but couldn't focus or work socially with tutors, so I dropped out.
Favorite music: Most EDM, but particularly Glitch-hop, Drum & Bass, and Melodic Dubstep.
Books: Pretty much anything sci-fi or horror. I don't read much. (Poor concentration.)
TV shows/Movies: YES, I'm a Whovian and I'm proud. Also Glee on occasion. Deadpool, Suckerpunch, Chocolat.
Instrument: Erm... I played flute in high school. Sometimes I plink away melodic songs on the piano when I get a chance.
Do you like sports? *laughs* No.
Family: Two older siblings, sister who's 8 years older, and a brother who is 6 years older. I am also married to a beautiful wife, and together we have a daughter who is about to turn 4 this June.
Clothing: I have discovered I normally wear black. It's chic.
How did you find this website? I stumbled upon it while researching stims, actually.
Job: Currently I'm a call assistant at a call center, but as I stated before, I am an occult magician. I teach magick and work with spirituality on a daily basis.
Plans for the future? Some day I hope to be a published author.
