Hi Guys.

24 year old male here from the uk and it's my first time on here.

I was diagnosed with Aspergers aged 7 and its took me until pretty much recently to be truly comfortable with having it.

I feel like I've been going the wrong way about my life and instead of embracing my difference I have went along trying to hide it but for some reason recently I've come to terms with my aspergers and everything that comes with it and finally I feel comfortable in my own skin!

I've done fairly well with my life so far as I have my own home, fiance, plenty good friends and good job etc but he one thing that was missing was that self acceptance which I feel I now have so I'm really looking forward to the future now!

So glad I've found this forum too as I'm looking forward to embracing who I really am and getting to know some like minded people!

Hope everyone is well, Jordon!

Hello Clarky, welcome to Wrong Planet!

I myself was diagnosed at age 6 and only started accepting it earlier this year. I'm glad you are doing the same thing, it's been a good experience for me so far even though it has been a bit hard at times.

Good luck!

Glad you feel the same mate!

Mainly the reason I've joined this forum is to get to know like minded people like myself. Life is always going to be a struggle for people like us but it doesn't have to be a bad life!

For me accepting myself as who I am and always will be is a big part of moving forward and enjoying my life and I must say I've been so much happier since accepting it!

Hope you yourself also have good luck in to journey!

Welcome to WP! It's great that you were able to come to terms with and accept your Asperger's.

Yeah, I'm here for the same reason. It's strange to not be the weird one for once and actually fit in without even trying, and it's quite nice.

I have also been happier since accepting it. I didn't know a lot about autism before I came out of denial and now I know why I flap my hands around a lot and stuff like that. It has been a very informative, eye opening, and overall interesting few months.
