Hello. I'm 24 year old woman from Finland. I apologize for my poor English.

I was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome in late November 2014. I had read about AS before and kinda recognized some symptoms in me. Then I was told by my psychotherapist and doctor that they were suspecting that my depression might be something more.

After finding out the truth I understood many things. The feeling or subconscious knowledge that I'm not like the others around me has been as long as I remember. I realized that there actually is something wrong with me. And that I'm not the only one. Therefore it's not a bad thing. It made me realize that instead of "wrong" it's actually called "different". I don't feel so bad anymore when people complain about me. It's becoming more annoying but at least I don't have urge to cut myself after that anymore.

My main hobbies are watching anime and reading manga. The things my family complains about are mostly about anime and manga. I collect cat figurines (currently around 177) and for some strange, unknown reason those paper pad thingies from chocolate boxes we've got.

I think your English is just fine, I literally couldn't tell your writing apart from that of a native English speaker.

Anyway, welcome to Wrong Planet!

Hei ina417, tervetuloa!

I'll stop there because I have not got very far in learning Finnish (my gf lives in Finland) and your English appears perfect.

It really helps to identify reasons for being the way you are - that aren't things wrong!

Welcome! It's great that you realized that you're not bad, just different.

I love Finnish ladies who are into animé/manga !
What do you think of some of the latest releases ?
With the limited time available that I can allocate to random activities...
...I have been following a handful of titles in particular :

・ ネトゲのヨメは女の子じゃないと思った?
・ ソウセイの陰陽師「おんみょうじ」
・ 逆転サイバン : そのシンジツ、イギあり!

...just to name a handful.

Being autistic is totally awesome. We may have challenges, but SO do neurotypicals, (People without autism) and just because those challenges are different does NOT mean we are any less than NT's. (Neurotypicals)

I mean we're aren't BETTER than NT's, but NT's aren't exactly better than us.
We are on the same planet, but have very DIFFERENT roles in society.

Also neurotypical is a scientific term, not a rude or derogatory way of talking about non-autistics. I know it sounds that way.

Every time somebody tells me they have a sibling with autism I tell them how lucky they are.

I'm new to this website myself! Congratulations on discovering this about yourself, and using it to your advantage :D

I have traveled to Norway, and really enjoyed my time there - Finland is another place I would love to visit soon. I'm a little envious of you for living there :P
