Hello, I'm Mike, 42 and in the process of being evaluated. I'm doing this as my daughter who is 15 is also suspected and felt alone and isolated, so I told her she isn't alone and that I'd take the tests with her.
So far the biggest WOW is that when question my mother recalled that I had been tested for being deaf I was so unresponsive to people talking to me and that I rarely looked at people. This might have been good information to know sooner rather than later, but at least it has come out. We'll see where it goes, but it definitely looks like I'll hit the spectrum somewhere.
On a related note: Has anyone else of "older than normal" age for being diagnosed found that testing centers are reluctant/outright refuse to test? Also, they seemed to be drilling down to see if I was seeking government benefits. Frankly, this is a thought that had never occurred to me. Is this an issue?
Mike
