Hi,

I have found this forum on Google a few times when I have searched to see if anyone else does some of the things I do. I joined two days ago after spending a while not being able to decide if it would be okay if I joined without being diagnosed. (When I went to a psychologist last year, my mum told her she wanted me to be tested, and she didn't say anything, rolled her eyes and never mentioned it again. That was before the first session had even started and we had only just walked in). I have had Selective Mutism and social anxiety since I was about four. I've been told I have always been different, even when I was a baby.

My interests are reading, listening to music, drawing, painting, knitting, making jewellery, taking photos, teaching myself things, genealogy, reading things backwards, or trying to look at writing without reading it, looking at words and thinking of different ways they could be pronounced and how they might look to someone who doesn't know English, trying to find faces and shapes when I look at things and going on the Internet and reading as much as I can about a few different things like the differences in accents and tap water in different parts of Australia, and how people are supposed to be different in each state; how much DNA is shared between different types of relatives; statistics for things; how different disabilities/mental health problems/differences affect people.

I hope your day has been nice. :)

Welcome. I'm interested in disabilities too. What books do you like to read?

Most of them are fiction, but I read lots of different types of books. :)
