Hi!
My name is Evin and I am new to this community. I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome when I was just a small child, and I often experienced difficulty socializing and speaking when I was young. I received adequate therapy due to my mother's concern, and I've somewhat successfully integrated into society.
I enlisted in the US Navy a little over three years ago. My job specialization is a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman, or basically a combat medic for the marines. I've been stationed in Japan for most of my time in the military, though I've been deployed to various places in the world, some which have been less friendly than others. My long term goals are to enter the special operations community, either as a Navy SEAL or a corpsman for Marine Recon. I would also like to continue my education, though I'm honestly not sure what subject currently interests me the most, as my fascinations often fluctuate a lot.
I love life here in Okinawa, which I spend with my beautiful companion, Azumi, who is originally from Osaka. I have been to many countries here in East Asia, to include Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Cambodia. We plan on traveling to South Korea in November, and Bali in February.
I'm on the site hoping to communicate with others who may experience some difficulties and frustrations with their social and professional lives, often in relation to a diagnosis of Aspeger's or another Austism Spectrum Disorder. Despite my cheery introduction, I tend to be a little shy. Just respond to my post or send me a message and I would be happy to chat!

Hey! Living in Japan is actually very nice for me and honestly, I prefer living here to living in the US. I'm culture shocked every time I return to the US, because the people at customs and immigration are always so rude and inconsiderate. People in Japan can be a little wary of foreigners but in general, they're so much more courteous and Okinawans are very friendly island-people. I've also loved Taiwan, Thailand, and the Philippines. People in these countries are very friendly and outgoing, and will actually invite you into their homes for dinner when they first meet you. In Thailand, the people absolutely refuse to let you go hungry and while I was there with the Marine Expeditionary Unit, this lady I called "mom" would make me breakfast for free every day. I definitely recommend traveling out here
