Hi, I'm a girl in my mid 20's from London but based in Bournemouth so am looking to meet new friends from both London and Bournemouth who have Aspergers. I was only diagnosed last year but have always had a lot of issues about meeting people, going out socially and attending group events. I also have social anxiety. I get very nervous in social situations. I much prefer one-to-one so as to get to know the person better. I like walking, playing tennis and going to the cinema.

Hi,

I'm new here too!
I was diagnosed about 2 months ago. I'm not based in London or Bournemouth, but somewhere in between the two.
I can identify with you in finding social situations difficult, particularly in a group setting. I've found that the best times I've had socially are when I've spent time with a close friend one to one.
I enjoy walking and the cinema too by the way.

Hi, I'm a girl in my early twenties, am from London and also have an anxiety disorder (not social anxiety, though it has morphed into that over the years). And I just joined WP too. I think this is my second post.

I was diagnosed in 2009; I've always had trouble making friends. I'm still in the early stages of making some neuro-diverse ones though by way of social/therapy groups so hopefully that goes well. Do you have a favourite genre you like to watch. I'm partial to war-era movies like War Horse and The Railway Man.

I like romance, sci-fi, action and thriller type films. I also like some animated, animal type films so a mixture. I don't like too many horror, extreme violence type films. What are your other interests? I really enjoy country type walks and have just joined an aspergers support group.

I like a variety of films, tbh. War-era films are just one genre I can point to with certainty; I will almost always like a film in that genre, with a few exceptions. I don't like horror either; stopped watching The Walking Dead because it got too much for me. I love reading, especially historical fiction and fantasy. I love watching crime dramas like The Tunnel and Broadchurch and The Bridge. Foreign dramas are always interesting so I'll throw that in. I like various other shows that I can't think of a single genre for, but most are a drama in one way or another. I like writing, mostly fanfiction but I've tried my hand at some original things as well. And honestly flopped. :P I really like listening to instrumental music, such as Audiomachine and tv/film soundtracks, especially when either reading or writing.

I walk as well — to avoid public transport, haha. But if it wasn't a lone activity, I could come to enjoy it, I think. Also if it wasn't in a city...

I am watching The Walking Dead myself. I bought the boxset and am watching it with my boyfriend. I'm shocked at some of the scenes but am continuing to persevere with it lol!:) I agree with you there about walking instead of public transport. I avoid the tube whenever i come to London and just travel by train and bus as it's the dark tunnels and people that get me. The country walks are relaxing and i know Ramblers Groups might do some in London away from built up areas in London :) Do you study or work? I'm doing an online course with a view to working from home self-employed :)
