Okay, first off, I'm terrible at introductions. Prefacing this with "I'm terrible at introducing myself" makes it easier, yay for filler.

So, I'm from northern California. I've been diagnosed with asperger's since I was like, 7. I was in denial about it for over a decade due to the associated stigma, but lately I've come to realize... yeah, I fit basically every symptom/associated trait besides "monotone voice." I've been on a leave of absence from college lately due to complicated family drama, which I'm slowly improving from but it's led to me being basically inactive for... two years now. That abject dysfunctionalness is depression-related, issues that have gotten very bad the last few years but have been there since I was a teen. I liked to "blame" the asperger's diagnosis on that, but thinking back the autistic traits were there when I was little where the depression wasn't.

Anyway, stuff I'm into: I'm a politics junkie, both the day-to-day rough and tumble of it and the more theoretical end. You can extend the latter into an interest in the social sciences/humanities in general, since I also love talking history, sociology, psychology, etc. Huge theater fan. I'm a gamer, mostly RPGs. Fitting someone who wanted to be the next Steve Irwin when I was little, also an obsessive animal lover. Travel is always fun; while it makes me nervous at first because it's going somewhere that's (I guess) not in my frame of reference, if I have the needed burst of confidence seeing new places is always an exciting and energizing experience. I like comics and anime and can talk either, but admittedly I haven't kept up with them in a few years.

I have the dubious distinction of being intersex on top of autistic. Stuff was ambiguous at birth but since the "functional" end was male, I was raised male. I'd consider myself genderqueer, though. Cue Rocky Horror music. We live in a society with a gender binary; as such, how I feel is interpreted through that lens. I feel male maybe slightly less than half the time, female slightly more than half since I feel (very) mildly more comfortable in girl-mode. Looks-wise, based on how I'm presenting myself, I vacillate between "effeminate male" and "well-passing transwoman." Other pertinent information, hmm... oh, I'm about 99% straight in guy-mode/gay in girl-mode. If there's anything anyone's wondering about here, feel free to ask.

Anyway, great to be here. I look forward to posting more. :)

Don't believe the gender tag. I was born intersex and identify as queer, girl-leaning. So while I can sometimes present as an effeminate guy, that's less than half the time and if anything I'd prefer it say "female" of the two choices offered. I can't change it though, it's bugged.
