Hi. I'm Frankie, and I just kinda decided to join this site because I'm autistic and there's not a lot of people in my life who I can talk about it with, or people who understand. By "not a lot" I mean really nobody. I've thought about joining ASD-related forums before but I used to be afraid of socializing. I'm not as scared now, and I'd like to spend more time talking to people who get what I'm going through.

I don't feel entirely comfortable saying my age or gender (part of the reason I'm a bit scared of socializing is being judged) but I will say I'm still in high school. Younger than most people here. Not sure if this is important info but I also have BD and PTSD. Some of my symptoms overlap with other mental illnesses / personality disorders, but I can't guarantee 100% that I have something else. So it's just autism and those for all I know.

I'm a huge fan of art, creating it and looking at it. I do drawing, painting, collage, and digital stuff. I also like listening to music, as I'd assume most people do. I don't have any specific music taste and I'll basically listen to anything I like as long as I like it.

That's basically all. :D

Hi Frankie! Welcome to WP.
You can call me Unicorn or GMU, I don't really care. I only joined up a month or so ago, for the same reasons. I can definitely understand the whole "nobody understands autism" thing, I've had it ever since I was diagnosed and even before. Especially for girls it's really hard for people to understand the difference. It's nice to have people who understand and who you can talk to without getting confused by facial expressions.
I also enjoy digital art (aka getting perfectly lovely old paintings and combining / mutilating them). I'm currently making Christmas cards using old ones I find on Pinterest. Are you working on a project at the moment?
By the way, it says under your username your age and gender, I think you can get rid of it by editing your profile. However, I would encourage you not to be afraid of judgement, it would make us all awful hypocrites! We've all been there, feeling a bit awkward and like you won't fit in. But you will, this is a place you can be yourself (though my philosophy is to always be myself, and you can tell because everyone thinks I'm insane).

Thank you guys! I didn't know my posts displayed my age and gender. Weird because I'm 15, not 14, and I only picked "female" because there was only two options. Not sure if there's any way I can change that.

@GMUnicorns, I'm not really working on any big projects. Most of my time I just draw and don't plan much out. As long as I'm happy with what I made then I keep it in my little portfolio-ish drawer.
