Hello fellow aspies. My name is Martin. I am currently 20 years old , i will be 21 in April. I live in the Central Europe in the country called Slovakia. My interests are - History,Web development and also videogames. I like animals , mainly dogs. I hope to meet like minded people here to chat with.

I think that everybody should have basic knowledge of history at least of his country.
I was always interested in the past , learning about the great historic battles and Empires,
and i think that history is the best way to observe evolution of Human race.
My favorite historical period would be probably 20th century , World wars and cold war.

Yeah those are some interesting and eventful time periods to explore. From what I understand Slovakia had quite the history in the 20th century. Do you know much about it?

For me my favourite historical periods are all over the place but right now its Lyndon Johnson's civil rights legislation and France.

i agree. those ignorant to the tragedies of history are doomed to repeat them, as is often said, and is now being observed to an extent.

and cool, that's my favorite period of history to read about, too. i had a book on the subject by ian kershaw i was working through, but i lost it in mexico. :(

slovakia seems like a nice country rich with its own stories, though i have never been. i have been to croatia, slovenia and a small part of austria, though.

Yes you are right , history of Slovakia was quite rich in 20 century, the transition from socialism/authoritarian state to capitalism/democracy etc. , but i prefer international history because it affected future of the world on a bigger scale than ours.

Just out curiosity but what specifically interests you about those parts of history?
