Hello,

Just saying hi and trying to get involved in a community here. I'm a PhD student in Australia, from the US, and diagnosed when I was going through some trouble after moving across the world... I study GeoScience, and in particular, geochemistry. I have a year left.

I'm currently in a shutting down mode, and just need friends/support. Even if its just a hi- I dont' really have friends here. My mind has seemed to shut down the past month or so, and I just can't function anymore. Spoken english has become hard too, which is weird.

I don't really know what I'm trying to say, except hi. Hope to meet some people!

Hello Asking, welcome, you've found a good place.

You said "currently" so that's a great sign that you know this is only temporary and you will cycle up, hopefully soon!

i so wish i could run away and just hole up somewhere and not have to deal with anything...

sorry... that wasnt too inspiring...

the one constant in life is change... given what you are studying you are probably familiar with the concept of equilibrium and that even when things are seemingly stable they are in fact constantly in motion and changing... only that the motion in one direction is balanced by motion in the opposite direction...

peruse the boards here... reach out when you're ready (like you just did) and be prepared to feel all different kinds of emotions when reading what other people are going through... just know that you're not alone...

Thanks guys.

I've been in Australia for a little over two years. One year to go. But given the political situation back in the US, I don't know if I'm going home or somewhere else for my next step...it stresses me a lot.

I haven't explored the boards too much yet, but I will be sure to do so. I've been struggling the past few days...

Thanks for welcoming me!
