Hello! My name is NAS, as you can see, which is short for my regular username as I wanted to keep my activity on this forum semi-private. My dad has an account here already, and that's how I was introduced to these forums.
I was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was 14 or so. I was having a lot of trouble at school due to my mental health and was referred to a child psychiatrist. The diagnosis is not actually official, as I said I didn't want it put down. I was afraid of prejudice, and I wanted to be 'normal' and was worried I was making a fuss. I wish I'd let them put it on my records, because it would make stuff so much easier for me!
I have a mountain of mental health problems, and I'm working on recovering (or coping, as I feel that some are here for the long term). I also have joint hypermobility syndrome, which has recently caught up with me and caused a lot of problems.
I like to write, and one of my special interests is my own writing and world building, which sounds horribly self centered now that I type it out. I'm finishing my BA in creative writing currently.
I hope to find support here, as well as a place to talk to people like me. My boyfriend, friends, and family are great, but it'd be nice to get some other support too.
So, hello!
