Hi everyone,
My name is Arby and I was diagnosed with Asperger's last Friday.
I am nearly 39 years old and found WP only a week before I was diagnosed. After reading many of the threads in the forum I knew that I had finally found the answer that I had spent my life searching for.
Anyway, I love music (I am a guitarist/singer/songwriter), our cat Pusskins (she's 20 in December), and I collect Australian Rules Football Cards. I don't work and stay home and look after the house and garden for my wife and two children.
Having spent all these years trying to fit in to the "normal world" (whatever that is 
) my recent diagnosis has given me the release I have always craved and now I feel that I can finally just be myself.
I hope to make some new friends here (other than my wife and brother I really only have one friend but he's on the other side of the country so we don't get to see each other much but I have known him for nearly 20 years - thank goodness for emails ! !) and would be happy to talk about life experiences with anyone who'd like to ! !! !

Hi, Arby! It's nice to meet you. I also stay at home with the kids, while my husband works. Maybe you can give me some gardening tips sometime. I try, but I know next to nothing about how to take care of our flower beds. Our front lawn was sodded when we moved in, but we've managed to kill a lot of that too.

Hello, arby! Welcome to WP. I am also 39, my husband has AS and we have 4 kids ( 2 sons have AS and one doesn't, my little girl has ADHD) I also have ADHD and AS-like traits. I stay home and love to garden. I also play piano and many other instruments but never learned the guitar well. I had kids and who had time with them?

Kiki3, I don't know much about gardening really. I just water the plants, trim off all the dead stuff, mulch the garden beds, take out the weeds and talk to the plants and trees. Like pets and animals, I think I get more from talking to them than I do with most people ! !
