Greatings to everyone on the Wrong Planet;

I have been lurking around here for several month now and have never introduced myself because that is not something that I like doing. However, now that I have passed "Emo Egg" status I think it is time that I did so.

I knew very little about autism until recently. It was less than a year ago that I found out that there are milder forms of it that a person could have without it being obvious. Since then I have been prowling the internet trying to find out more about it and I think I finally understand what is so strange about me.

From what I have read, there would be little point in seeking an official diagonsis. I am 58 years old and it would be difficult to diagnose at this point. It is a long time since I was a child and most of the testing criteria seem to be baised on childhood behavior. Both of my parents are dead and my only living sibling is 5 1/2 years younger than me so her memory of my childhood would be even more vauge than mine.

As you can see from my post count I don't post much and that is what I thought I ought to explain. I only talk when I have something to say and someone to say it to whom I think is interested. I never argue, if I can avoid it, because I don't see the point. I am interested in other peoples opinions and willing to share mine, but I don't force mine on anyone and will rarely make a point more than once.

Anyway, I thought I would put this on the record in case anyone saw my name elsewhere and was wondering who I am.

Welcome! Are you as easy to get along with in real life? I'm pretty easy-going myself, but every great once in a while I have an angry/argumentative day. It took me more than 30 years to EVER yell at anyone who didn't live with me. When I finally let it out, boy did it feel good, but I immediately felt guilty. At least, the lady deserved it. I wanted to tell her, "You must be a royal b*tch (I almost never swear) to make me break my vow of niceness at all costs, after 30 years!! !! !"

Not really, it's not like I have friends. It is just that I have stopped letting myself be bothered by other people's opinions because back when I cared, their opinions about me really hurt, so I stopped caring then expanded on the principal.

Naturaly, I think I am right about everything because if I thought I was wrong I would change my opinion. I have a problem, though, with people who are so fond of their opinions that they will ignore any comment that challenges them, then repeat it; they only have to do that to me once and I will leave them to it. Before I even suspected that I was autistic I had this policy: I do not talk to people who don't listen to me. NT's at least, see this as very unfriendly.

P.S. Thanks for the welcome.

Yeah, it's like they're always trying to get you to talk. When you finally do, no one wants to listen!

I like your words that make me remember myself when I was really serious, by now I am probably excessive domesticated, and turned a fish out of water.

Well, our major aim is probably to be ourselves!

Be yourself and be happy! :D
