Hello everyone,

Hmm, I am not sure what to say. I came across this community on accident when doing some medication interactions research, and it seemed like an interesting place for me. I was diagnosed recently and as a young adult, and I'm trying to come to terms with it, what it means for my life, and my future. It's turned everything upsidown, and I've been having a rough time with the amount of disclosure i give to others. I suppose you folks all know the whole 'being terrible at social situations and things coming out of your mouth that were sudden and a bad idea' story.

So I thought this place might be a good idea, where i can be separate from my offline self and try to figure things out by talking to others openly about it. Its been a long time since i've been apart of a forum community, so please pardon me as I figure things out.

For those curious, I was diagnosed officially with moderate/severe Prosopagnosia, moderate/severe ADHD Inattentive Type, and high functioning ASD/Aspergers.

For other things, I enjoy sci-fi and fantasy, and like collecting old paperback books. I also like a ton of other things, and love learning. I hope to try and jump into the forums and make friends and interact with others that are kinda like me.

i think a lot of us reached this site through google, looking up other things. i have yet to hear of an instance, when someone was diagnosed as an adult and it did *not* cause them to really think about it. what it means for their life.

sci fi, fantasy, old books and learning, huh? sounds like you'll fit right in, here. welcome to the club.

i was diagnosed at age 4 with classic autism, but now that i am nearly 20 i'm having some serious doubts about that.
