I'm kinda old (50) and I've never felt I understood myself. Reading about Aspergers seems to explain a lot. I think I was married to another Asperger and my children have same (and my family has been too dysfunctional because of not understanding this) . I am looking for people like me, I've never seemed to find any. Anybody out there?

Sounds like you're new to these forums, and you're getting through lond and clear: Welcome aboard Wrong Planet. As another newly diagnosed member, I can surely relate to that "well that explains why such-and-such-and-such..." kind of feeling...!

On the post subject you've written: I've never used a chat B4. How does this work?

This place is, strictly speaking, not a chat, but a forum. Think of it as a bulletin board, where everyone who's signed up as a member, can put up notes, and write replies onto existing notes. In this case, you posted the "initial" slip, and soon enough some of us "regulars" drop by, sees your note, and starts jotting down friendly little "hello's" like this one... :D

If you want to use the chatroom, that is really easy. Just click on 'chat' on the left hand side of the screen. When asked, try loading the Java version of the chat first - click 'Run' when prompted. If that doesn't work, then try the 'lightweight' chatroom and click on 'login' when asked.

Then, just type what you want to say in the white space at the bottom of the large white rectangle (in which what people are typing appears) and press Enter to make it appear in the large chat rectangle.

Most people in the chatroom are really nice.
