Hello. I am here because only the ones who are like you, can truly understand you. I just want to know if there are aspies of my age (twenty-eight) on this forum and how they are doing :) . I was not diagnosed because I did not find a right doctor (who does not reduce everything to psychological issues and who does not blame you). But I don't care because I am sure that there is no real help around here so diagnosis will be just a label.

I'm 27, and undiagnosed. Just starting to look for a doctor who might know something about the autistic spectrum.

i am, too, 27 years old. self-diagnosed. i will pursue the diagnosis one day, but so far i live abroad and therefore it's difficult. i know it's just a label, but my family is in denial so i want a proof for them. and it's obvious that i have it from father's side, but i didn't talk with him about it. i could do that only through phone and that's not a good way. my family is far away. moreover, i don't have healthy relationship with him. though, i don't really care, i just don't talk about it with anybody. but i am happy, the diagnosis gives an explanation for my entire life.

tomamil: Are you happy in Lisbon? I've been to Portugal and didn't mind it all that much.

not really, never been so lonely as i am here. many people here seem to me a bit careless. everything is OK for them, everything has time to be done tomorrow, there is never any problem and actually yes, there are many problems, just nobody cares. many foreign people liked it. they liked to feel without pressure, but nobody i knew stayed here for so long as i did. maybe that's the reason why i find this attitude to be irresponsible.

I know what you mean about Portugal. A lot of people, particularly the younger folk, are quite loud out there. :)

When I was a child I liked to read science fiction books. As I grow up my interests shift to 'the truth' :) -- popular medical articles and books. I don’t have real hobbies because I want to make my job and my hobby the same so I adapt both.

Me too. Why are you trying to convince them? I prefer to talk to people who really want to know what's going on.
What's your home country?

heh. i live on twelfth floor. in middle of the night i woke up, because some b*tch bellow on tenth floor was talking to (yelling at) somebody down on the street. it was a normal discussion, they didn't quarrel. or i am in bus and have to listen to a lady sitting in front who is trying to have a conversation with another lady sitting in back of the bus. why didn't they just sit together? :x

:o thanks lelia, if you wish there is a blog where i describe these experiences. visit my www, just don't bother with the last 5 posts where i am trying to explain to my NT friends why i am an aspie, and after them you will find 2 more with nice stories about Portugal. there is another blog of mine where i have around 100 posts about me and Portugal, but that's in Slovak language. :( i like writing these things down, so i know they won't be forgotten.

Portugal is OK but I'm not sure I'd like to live there.
