So here's another one.
I just turned 19. I haven't done well in school since the first time I was asked to do an assignment on my own time, but I've consistently outscored my peers on tests, especially standardized ones. I've always had what I thought of as minor tics, which I'm now finding would be better described as stims (never heard the word before). I find that I can slip in and out of elaborate and formal language without even thinking about it, and when I was younger I almost exclusively talked that way. I make friends slowly and can't stand the nuances of sociality, mostly because they go over my head. After I barely graduated from high school last year I went on to have just as hard a time in college. My mom heard about AS from somebody and is convinced that I have it. Personally, I think it does seem like a good fit but I'm not sure if I want to bother getting a real diagnosis.
