I'm 31 and newly self diagnosed with Aspergers after a lot of my own reading, researching, etc. This is my first time using any forum ever. Pardon me while I'm learning this thing. I'm bipolar, ADD and all kinds of anxiety. Funny how those diagnoses just don't explain my life like Aspergers...especially the way girls/women show the traits. It's good to be here.

Welcome! I understand that quality of the condition helping to paint over the fabric and contours of life up until you find out as I went through therapy for a number of years and it was extremely helpful but there were so many shades missing despite the extensive digging we did, it certainly does help give a shape to that strange hole that always hovers behind you before you realize!

My interests are mainly specific musicians or actors and directors. I love movies and music. I hear music in my head a lot and I try to memorize lyrics as best I can. Morrissey, Smiths, David Byrne/Talking Heads, Ingrid Bergman, U2, Wes Anderson, and I have a David Bowie obsession.

It's funny I bought the CD immediately but have only listened to Lazarus and Black Star. Both eerie greatness. I guess I've been putting off playing the whole album, for some reason...maybe because I feel no urgency. He went out of this world in such an amazing way.

Talking Heads are a wonderful band, I'm listening to them right this minute.

I go everywhere with Helios on my ipod at the moment. Very calming. Especially when the world is turning into a car crash of overloads. Other good calming musics are things like Windham Hill & Ludovico Einaudi. The noisiest I can go, is maybe the Waterboys. But music, as a catalyst for balance is often more powerful than sitting with a clinician in a room being asked ridiculous questions, which can end up feeling like thrash metal on +20 volume. Try some chilled sounds Blusun & see how it can be a friend & mechanism for day to day operations, & welcome to WP. :)
