Hi. I'm 36 years old, male, from Australia. I was diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum about 2 or so months ago. I learned a lot about myself in the time that my therapist and I were exploring whether I was on the spectrum or not. I am on the high-functioning end of the spectrum. I'm happy to have discovered this about myself because it explains a lot about my life. But it's a new way of viewing myself and I'm still not entirely used to it. I thought I'd join this site and reach out to others who are having a similar experience.
My interests are more diverse than they used to be (I've heard this happens as people with Asperger's get older). My most intense and solid interest is reading. I like to read at least 3 or 4 times a week. I like to read sci-fi, post-apocalypse, and coming-of-age stories (and others), and I like to read about religions, philosophy, history, science, psychology and others. I also like gaming, exercising, martial arts and a range of other things.
