Hello all

I know there have been similar threads to this in the past but I thought I'd start a new one because this is about wanting to get to know the people who reply :)

I am an artist and researcher and I'm autistic (and bipolar). I've never felt human - always convinced I'm from somewhere else, that I'm an alien, that I need to get home somehow, that if I had an operation or x-ray they'd find I'm nothing like anyone else inside...

Who else feels like this? Can you describe your feelings? Do you think they are 'real' or just feelings?

I make artwork about these experiences of my own, but I want to understand more than just myself, I want to hear from others.

Do you think you're an alien? A changeling? A ghost? An angel? A demon? A you from an alternate universe?

Yep, I’ve felt like this for a while. It’s very common in autistic people I think. I used to think of myself as an alien, but now that I’m into X Men I call myself a mutant.

Welcome to WP!

I wouldn't get entrapped on 'labels' because you feel alienated or different.

Accept you think differently to the sheep caught in the system.: )

I think much of our thoughts come from the idea we create because we can see right through the fraudulent worlds created by the expected social norms.

Welcome :)

Welcome demieljo!

I can't tell you what I am. That would lead to people hunting me down

Enjoy the forum!

Hello.

I know that I'm human, but the feeling of not belonging is real for me. Much like a person who isn't native to a country and doesn't speak the language very well and doesn't know the customs and never gets better at either.

When I was a child, I not only thought I was an alien, but I believed my parents weren't my real parents and were instead just my earth guardians. I believed I was from a different planet and I was formed from the vomit of the king of that planet. I created a rudimentary language with my friend who lived next door and created a new name for myself in the other planet's language. I insisted that my classmates at school call me by that new name; they obliged thinking little of it since I was always the weirdest kid in school.

well, embrace the alien! :alien:

on a darker note, it has happened a couple of times that i felt myself watch my body like i was not me or anything. I sometimes feel like nothing and like i'm pretending to be a person when in reality i'm just a learning algorithm learning random s**t. i try not to focus on this feeling, it's unproductive. :skull:
