I am 21 years old and I was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome as a 4 year old. Autism runs in the family. My dad and my younger brother both have it, as well as some of my cousins on Dad's side. Meltdowns occur once every five years for me so I didn't consider going to a doctor or support group to help me. I had a meltdown during my post-secondary education program this year however. My instructor spoke to me and said I should consider joining a support group. I suppose this site'll do.

I'm not very good with introductions. I have some special interests but I've been taught by my mom not to speak about them, and I still feel embarrassment from talking about myself and my interests. You may ask any reasonable questions about me if you'd like to know more about my background, characteristics, routine, history, preferences, or interests on this thread.

You can call me Hal if you'd like. I'm not sure if that's the name that appears by my posts, or if it will just show my username.
