Welcome to Wrong Planet. You mentioned volunteer archivist; I used to be a volunteer researcher for a museum nearly ten years ago.

You mention Mr. Bean as possibly autistic, what about Baldrick from Black Adder? He'd throw in a clever left-field non-sequitur from time to time.
