Hello,
I'm new to this message board, and I have to admit that I haven't lurked much to see if other's have already discussed my concerns to death. My sister has Asperger's, although I don't believe the DSM-V makes that distinction anymore, so she's on the spectrum. She's brilliant, I love her, and I am concerned about her. Despite her brilliance, she is oblivious to her condition, although she can recognize it in others. I'll post more in a specific thread.

I would also be guilty about being oblivious to having anything wrong with me at the time I was diagnosed. I was diagnosed with AS 16 years ago. When it was brought to my attention, I know I never heard of it before.

I guess it was both a relief and a burden to be diagnosed. I feel the same way now. Certainly that I've had to recognize that I have limits that I have to work within versus having a "no ceilings" approach to life.

And welcome to WP.
