Hello! I am new to the forum and interested in learning more about myself and others on the spectrum. I am self-diagnosed, but I get to speak with a psychologist about it next month. I am excited but nervous that she will tell me I am not on the spectrum (which seems unlikely), or that there will 'not be enough information from childhood' due to my age (I am 29).

Anyhow, I am excited to read some posts and participate in the community. :)

I like bassoons and researching ASD stuff. I am also a scientific illustrator and am trying to get some more commissions, but who knows where that will go. Nice to meet everyone!

Welcome. I got officially diagnosed in my mid-20s so it is not unheard of for it to happen in adulthood. Someone here mentioned that it's actuallu pretty common on this site I think. Hope everything goes well for you.

Welcome to Wrong Planet. One of my daughters played bassoon in school. It was actually taller than she was.

Very cool! The bassoon is made of magic. I hope she enjoyed having it as a part of her life. :)

Welcome to the forum! I’m new too. I got diagnosed when I was 30 so it’s definitely possible to get an adult diagnosis! If you’re on good terms with your parents or someone who knew you when you were young, your psychiatrist may want them to fill out a form about what you were like as a child (my mom filled out one for me). Good luck!

Welcome to the forum (I'm new here too). I'm beyond ancient and I just last year got diagnosed. Sub-clinical, so neither one thing nor the other, but it was good to get it done, helped me a lot with understanding who I am.
