Been binging on House MD for 3 days.
Made me cry twice.
When a show is deliberatively manipulating the emotions, yet the manupulation works despite being aware of it, does that mean i am more screwed up than usual?
Because I feel more screwed up than usual.

You might get more response to a post like this in the section on Television, Film, and Video.

On the other hand, if what you are looking for primarily is emotional support, you might try posting in The Haven.

Just mentioning this because I notice that no one else has replied to your post.

Thank you!

I, of course, am used to being ignored, so it's helpful to know when that happens not because there's something wrong with me but because of something that could be easily fixed.

Art generally aims at manipulating emotions. Nothing wrong in knowing it and still letting it do its job. Maybe you just feel like crying so the show adresses your emotional needs. That would be perfectly okay.

Sometimes I cry too when I’m deep in depression

Crying helps me out of depression and prevents falling there.

I am generally aware of and disgusted by emotional manipulations.

So this is why it was surprising to feel such a strong response.

It was in the bus accident episode, when the girl in House's vision showed him her pendant and asked what it was made of, then once I realized what it meant and what the name was and who died or was about to die, and what that loss meant to House's friend, that's what made my eyes teary. Even now as I'm typing it my eyes are getting wet.
